Asian dishes that are loved would usually go with rice. If you’re then sick of the usual white grain, quinoa can be a useful substitute. It can give you more nutrients than rice and best of all, it is absolutely gluten free.
Even though quinoa is originally cultured in South America, it can also adopt an Asian taste. Spices would always enhance the flavor so we will use Chinese 5 spice.
To start with the ingredients, one-half cup of cooked quinoa is required. Chop half stalk of celery, a quarter of bell pepper, and one-fourth cup of green beans. Additions to vegetables are a half of carrots peeled into ribbons and a cup of spinach or mache.
You would also need one egg to be beaten by fork. In order to fry, you’ll need to have one clove of garlic and ½ teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil or you can reserve an extra for drizzling later. Of course, you will have salt and pepper to taste, cayenne peper is optional and don’t forget the 1/8 teaspoon of Chinese 5 spice.
Here’s to start the cooking:
Heat the olive oil in a skillet in a medium heat. Smash the garlic and put it on the oil along with pepper, celery and green beans. Wait for six to seven minutes for the vegetables to turn into brown within the same heat.
Then add the quinoa and beaten egg. Stir them to make sure that the egg has been evenly distributed with the rest of the ingredients. And if it’s already cook, it’s time to add your spinach or mache. Stir until they’re slightly wilt.
Turn off the heat and take out the garlic from the skillet. It’s time to add Chinese 5 spice and cayenne pepper. Drizzle the extra olive oil to spread the spices properly and keep enough moisture on the dish. Add salt sea and pepper for the last step.
The amount of ingredients being presented here are good for one serving of meal and two servings for having it as a side dish. What a fantastic way of eating clean!
